Basta Trattoria; great italian food in New Haven

If you haven’t stopped into this charming restaurant on Chapel St in New Haven; you are missing out! The food is amazing and the attention to detail is just what a nonna italiana would be proud of. My  mouth waters at the sound of the pane cotto and the Zuppa de Pesce! But everyone has their own favorite; local Food Critic extraordinaire Stephen Fries adores the A nonna’s Meatballs (voted best in state by CT mag).

Per their recent blog, you might be eating dinner right next to Carole King who has scheduled a visit to the restaurant this week anywhere from 3/6 through 3/11. You can make your reservations before the show or enjoy dinner after the show “Beautiful, the Carole King musical“.
