Uninsured/underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage is a part of everyone’s auto policy. This coverage is for YOU. Because sooner or later, that guy that forgot to pay his insurance bill for 2 months or who has no regard for anyone’s safety will get into an accident. You will say, it wasn’t my fault so why do I have to pay for it? He has nothing to back him up and you are the one stuck with a totaled car and a broken arm. Thank goodness you were smart and chose higher UIM limits.
